Hey you, do you like beer? Who doesn’t that’s a rhetorical question.

We at Lonsdale Avenue Magazine are going to start offering brewery tours in the Lower Lonsdale Brewery District with an in house provider who works alongside us to offer the service for locals and visitors alike.

These tours we will be fun and well paced to maximize the enjoyment for everyone. You will get to try some of the best locally made micro brewed beers and learn about the history of Lower Lonsdale and the Shipyards buildings at the same time. You can arrive at the Lonsdale Quay seabus, take an Uber, or park your vehicle nearby. But we do suggest having a dedicated driver for a safe ride home after the tour.

If you have experience with local history or just love beer and know how to brew it (or at least how to talk about it in detail) than we want to hear from you. Contact us below. We will be hiring a few local guides to tour corporate groups around the neighbourhood to learn about the craft beer that is made here along with the culture and history. With a sprinkle of lifestyle elements.

We are going to offer a couple of tour packages, the first one being about 2 hours long with a beer at each local brewery in Lower Lonsdale, and the second tour being a half day (4 hours) where we try most of the beers available on the menus at all of the local breweries in a sample size glass. These will include insights into the brewing process and chats with the brew masters and staff. You will learn what the ingredients are, what the fermentation process is like, how to bottle the beers and much more.

This article is not necessary designed to advertise the start of a brewery tour in the waterfront area of North Vancouver, but more so to let you know that we are planning this and welcoming you to take part either as a tour guide or referring people who might be interested to learn about local beer. We would love to see you out at one of these tours.

Did you know that the first IPA brewed on the North Shore was done in 1984 at Sailor Hagar’s Brew Pub on 1st Street? This is just one example of historical references you will learn on the tours.

The breweries we will be visiting are Green Leaf Brewing at the Lonsdale Quay market, Streetcar Brewing on Lolo Lane, Beere Brewing and House of Funk Brewing on Esplanade and North Point Brewing on 1st as well as Shaketown Brewing which will be opening soon.
