Well it’s that time of the week again when we publish a mashup of the most pertinent and interesting local news and current events for the Lonsdale Avenue corridor of North Vancouver. This weeks top news not only here on the North Shore but across Metro Vancouver is that Uber and Lyft Apps have been approved for operation for their ride hailing services and it’s just a matter of time until they become active locally here on the ground. Which of course is outstanding news for the local business owners and economy as it gives workers more options to get too and from work. Given that the North Shore is famous for having transportation difficulties.
It seems like transportation as a whole is going through a renaissance with the rise of electric vehicles. Translink is looking at electric Seabuses for their Lonsdale Quay to downtown Vancouver route, a local airline is testing electric seaplanes, the Lonsdale corridor has a rising number of EV charging stations, and of course here in North Vancouver the firefighters got to view an electric firetruck (main photo) earlier this week.
