How did you get started with Zerode and what do you like about operating in North Vancouver?
I had heard about Zerode bikes while I lived in New Zealand a number of years ago. I loved the innovative design, and when I returned home I went to buy one, but there were no shops selling them. I realized that with my experience and knowledge that I could provide a custom build experience to Canadian customers with a unique, exotic brand.
What are the products, services and brands that you offer to customers?
I am planning on custom ordering in Zerode frames, and building up bikes to customers specifications. Having worked in the bike industry for a number of years as a mechanic has given me the skill set necessary to provide a professional level of service. It is early days in the business here, but in the coming weeks I will be taking orders.
If our readers want to purchase mountain bikes from you what is the best way for them to do so?
Over email is best! If you would like to discuss the benefits of riding a Zerode, I am always happy to chat over Instagram messages or via phone. I am currently a few weeks off until I am able to take orders. Check my Instagram page below for more updates.
Before operating your local business what were you doing for work or a career?
I have spent most of my working years as a mechanic for various local shops. I work part time at Arc’teryx head office in North Vancouver as well.
Outside of operating your mountain bike business what do you get up to for activities in your personal time?
Anything outdoors really! Obviously mountain biking, hiking. I am also a volunteer builder for the NSMBA. In the winter I ski tour most weekends. The past few years I have been developing a big interest in gardening and I have a big vegetable garden at home these days.
Lastly, is there anything else you might want our readers to know about you or your custom bike business?
I am a formally trained mountain bike mechanic through Wheelthing, a PMBIA certified mountain bike instructor, a downhill racer since the age of 16, and I have never ridden a better bike. There are many benefits of riding a Zerode, including better performing suspension, lower center of gravity, and unsprung wheel weight. Send me a message and we can discuss building your dream bike.
