Opening this month in Lower Lonsdale near the Lonsdale Quay is the North Shores first urgent and primary care medical centre.
Which will offer services to people with or without a family doctor and serving some 33,000 North Shore residents who do not happen to have their own family doctor at the moment.
The services here will be regarded as between walk-in clinic and emergency room severity. So you will be able to go here for some fairly serious concerns of yours if for some reason you cannot get to the hospital or are not near a walk-in clinic.
This new centre will be highly appreciated by so many families and truly round out Lower Lonsdale as one of the best places to live in Canada.
The urgent primary care medical centre will be operated by Vancouver Coastal Health, and will be staffed with 4 doctors, 7 nurses, and 2 counsellors on a full time basis to serve the community. As well as having 13 exam rooms, 1 treatment room and 3 stretcher bays for the ambulance.
Located at 221 Esplanade W., the new medical centre is one block from the Squamish Nation community and nearby the Lonsdale Quay transit hub.
Centre hours will be Monday-Saturday 8am-10pm., and Sundays 9am-5pm.
It’s expected to be fully operational by mid-to-late September 2019 and will be staffed by general practitioners, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and social workers as mentioned above.
