Well, it’s Friday the 13th and also a full moon, go figure. Sounds like a good transition into a fun and eventful weekend with friends and family. The weather forecast says it’s supposed to be cloudy with flurries and a slight chance of snow, which of course will likely melt given the moderate climate of the North Shore. Fingers crossed for snow though, as we want to do snowshoeing on Grouse Mountain and have a snowball fight.

CBC News – Metro Vancouver to have region-wide business licence for ride-hailing companies such as Lyft and Uber to ensure a streamlined approach.

Globe and Mail – The Squamish Nation got overwhelming approval from its more than 800 voting members to move forward with a massive rental-apartment development on Vancouver’s central-city waterfront.

Foodology – located on Central Lonsdale in North Vancouver, Indian Fusion Restaurant is serving up classic Indian dishes with a modern twist in a relaxed setting.

Vancouver is Awesome – did you know that Lower Lonsdale Avenue used to have a 1500 foot underground Subway tunnel originally used for moving materials throughout the area?

Marine Log – Seaspan has completed delivery of CCGS Capt. Jacques Cartier, the Canadian Coast Guard’s second Offshore Fisheries Science Vessel (OFSV).

Lower Lonsdale BIA – has worked with the local businesses in the Shipyards District to create beautiful wreaths for the Christmas holidays.

North Van Recreation – sends out a weekly email newsletter with all of the events and happenings in the area, this time including Where the Wild Things Are, Spirit of Christmas at The Shipyards, and more.

North Van District Library – has started to published a weekly list of the various happenings at the library for kids, adults and members of the community.

North Shore Women’s Centre – just launched their new newsletter which has resources for ladies in the community to get assistance with various things and information about their current fundraiser.

North Van Chamber – is celebrating with Capilano University on the opening of the new satellite campus at The Shipyards, called CapU Lonsdale.

City of North Vancouver – wants everyone to know about the awesome stuff happening throughout the city for Christmas, including the updated calendar of events, info about the skating rink, and much more.
