As with virtually every week here in the Lonsdale Avenue corridor of North Vancouver, this past week has been very busy with tons of things happening and new announcements taking place.

Of course the big news of the week is the Shipyards Festival tomorrow down at The Shipyards Commons in Lower Lonsdale beside the Lonsdale Quay. It’s an all ages event from 12 noon to 10 pm and the entire community will be out there to support and enjoy themselves.

Rob Clinton – reports on Twitter that a large transport vehicle was parked and blocking a cyclist lane in the same place someone died last year.
Lower Lonsdale BIA – sent Tweets this week to remind everyone to attend the Shipyards Festival and highlighting things with new photos.
City of North Vancouver – is planning their final movie night down at The Shipyards Commons on October 4th at 7pm showing A Wrinkle in Time.
North Vancouver Museum and Archives – there is still time to book tickets for Culture Days Sept 28th and 29th. With storytelling, heritage walks and local presenters, there’s something for everyone.

Capilano Student Union – is holding a debate with the candidates for political office in North Vancouver and welcoming the community.
Daily Hive – there is going to be a delay on the implementation of the new B-Line Express Bus going through Lower Lonsdale into West Vancouver.
North Vancouver School District – more than 130 people attended an awards reception recently to celebrate students who received education scholarships or bursaries from a local non-profit organization.
Vancouver Sun – published an article about ‘micro mobility’ options coming to North Vancouver and Mayor Linda Buchanan said her biggest concern is dockless scooters and bicycles ending up abandoned in public spaces.
