Vancouver, British Columbia – June 8, 2021 – Tap & Barrel Group announced today that Jason Forbes has been promoted to President & Chief Operating Officer, reporting to Daniel Frankel, Founder & Chief Executive Officer. The Vancouver based hospitality company is planning for aggressive growth as it emerges strongly from the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Forbes joined Tap & Barrel Group as Chief Operating Officer in 2019 and has proven to be an invaluable member of the team during his two-and-a-half-year tenure. He has contributed greatly to his role where he’s implemented structure and strategies to support the company’s ambitious growth plan, with a focus on developing a best-in-class leadership team.

“Forbes was instrumental during the global pandemic, working closely with the BCRFA and provincial government on the various public health orders and plans that impacted restaurants province-wide,” states Ian Tostenson, BCRFA President & CEO. “Jason exemplified that he continuously puts our people first and was always able to maintain our strong culture despite an incredibly challenging year,” adds Daniel Frankel.

Prior to joining Tap & Barrel, Forbes spent 25 years at the Keg Steakhouse + Bar in various roles including Director of Training, Director of Purchasing, and Director of Operations. From this illustrious career, Forbes brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry.

“At Tap & Barrel Group, we believe it is important to treat people the way you want to be treated because business, like life, is all about how you make people feel. As we continue to grow, we never lose sight of this and treat our business like a small company where every employee is an integral part of our organization. Jason lives and breathes by our ethos and has already, in two and a half short years, galvanized our culture and has empowered our leadership team to be the very best versions of themselves,” says Daniel Frankel. “He is invested in developing our people and in making bold moves that will take hospitality to new heights!”

Tap & Barrel Group is pleased to be growing despite still navigating through a global pandemic. The company plans to open three new Tap & Barrel locations in 2022, effectively doubling the footprint of its marquee “Tap & Barrel” brand.
