When it comes to the best patio vibes on the North Shore you can’t argue that PIER 7 Restaurant + Bar likely is among the top contenders. With a 360 degree view of the downtown Vancouver skyline and the Lower Lonsdale Shipyards District. Couple that with a new menu and additional patio space on the main floor and you have the makings for an awesome culinary experience with your friends and family.
PIER 7 is part of the Pinnacle Hotel Group and is one of the original casual fine dining restaurants in the area paving the way for other big players in the food and beverage scene. They offer dine in, takeout, delivery and custom orders for catering events or parties. In this article we get to learn more about what’s new with them from our food blogger @with.rose.love who is very active in the foodie scene throughout the Lower Mainland. Pier 7 Restaurant has been in The Shipyards neighbourhood for over 8 years, and is one of the only few restaurants in the area that was completed while The Shipyards was still being designed and built. This unique restaurant provides a relaxing and comfortable dining experience, and absolutely breathtaking views! Lets take a look at their delicious West Coast-inspired signature dishes.
I had an amazing time during my tasting at Pier 7, all dishes have a strong fundamental bursting flavor. My best picks were the Sable Fish, the Chef made this Western & Asian Fusion dish with Red Thai Curry on the bottom layer (which is made with Lemon Grass, Ginger, Garlic, Brown Sugar, White Wine and Fish sauce) and served with Maple & Coconut Rice and Asian Bak Choi on the second layer. Finally topped with Miso compound butter. That salty flavor on top overlapping the butter fish was very tasty indeed. We also loved the Meatball Truffle Linguine with slow braised Meatballs including roasted Tomatoes, Garlic, Fresh Basil and finishing off with my favourite Creamy Truffle Classic Sauce. The depth of flavour was unique. I highly recommend these dishes and checking out their other new menu items when you visit. Another favourite that my husband tried was the Arctic Char. A contemporary twist of Italy and West Coast flavours. Classic Cajun sauce and Citrus Beurre Blanc served with mashed Potatoes and Parmesan cheese. Finally topped with some Tomato and Lime acidity- the perfect match.
Pier 7 Restaurant is definitely a fine place to dine with friends and/or family, host a private event, or to catch the sunset on one of their three patios (which are covered and heated) with their delicious Happy Hour Menu. From Signature Cocktails to Artic Char, Sablefish, Surf and Turf to their Signature Seafood Tower, Pier 7 offers a welcoming relaxing environment to enjoy and get together.
