The Lonsdale Avenue corridor of North Vancouver has some awesome local coffee shops available, with plenty of seating, free wifi and more. Of course many of us go to cafes not only for the coffee but also for the socialization and ambiance associated with a coffeehouse. With popular drinks being black drip coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, espressos and similar.
Did you know that dark roast coffee actually has less caffeine than regular roast? And that most coffee in origin countries such as Costa Rica or Colombia is actually sweet naturally and does not require additional sugars or milk to be palatable. When coffee beans travel from the origin country to Canada they often lose much of their flavour given the distance traveled and the systems in place to ensure the coffee is protected and not contaminated.
If you want the best coffee in the world you have to travel to Italy, Costa Rica, Colombia, and regions like this where coffee is grown and can come directly from the drying process at the local farm to your cup. With minimal travel time in between.
That’s not to say that North Vancouver and the Lonsdale corridor doesn’t have some amazing coffee, you just need the correct perspective to understand the difference between decent coffee and world class coffee.
