When it comes to fashion and clothing, new is not always better. There are so many timeless and amazing brands and designers that do not make clothing items anymore, and when you get a chance to own something you love from a time that has passed, it’s a beautiful thing. The Lower Lonsdale Shipyards District of North Vancouver is a cultural mecca with fashionable people and professionals coming and going for work, errands, and social outings. As a result, there is a high demand for consignment-style stores and places that offer hip and trendy lightly used vintage clothing. In this magazine feature, we get to chat with Sarah Lewis who is the co-founder and operator of Wild Honey, they are shaking up the local vintage clothing industry.

How did you get started with your business and what do you like about operating in North Vancouver?
Our business was originally based online, over the course of 2 years we outgrew the home space we were working from and began looking for a larger office space to house our vintage clothing and accessories while operating our online store. After many months of looking, we found our home at Unit 205 – 106 West 1st Street and couldn’t be happier – it was a huge bonus that this location had a retail entrance. We’ve fallen in love with the local community and hopefully, we will stay in this location for many years to come.
What are the different types of vintage clothing and accessories you offer for sale?
We carry men’s and women’s vintage clothing. Our goal is to make quality vintage clothing affordable and accessible to everyone!
Before operating your local business what were you doing for work or a career?
My sister/business partner and I were both long-time hospitality workers.
Outside of operating your business, what do you get up to for activities in your personal time?
We are both mothers so we spend most of our non-working-time with our little ones.
Lastly, is there anything else you might want our readers to know about you or your business?
We’re always looking for ways to get involved with local community events! If you are hosting an event or similar consider reaching out to us as we can collaborate on the planning and event day areas. Looking forward to hearing from you.
