When it comes to economics for the most part things are very simple. When the demand increases the prices increase if there is a burden on the supply chain or similar. The inverse can be implied when the demand decreases and there is an abundance of said item for sale. This absolutely applies to new and used car/truck/SUV sales, leasing and financing options.
With the covid19 pandemic in place, day to day transportation for most people who drive is at an all time low. Which means cars, trucks, vans and other vehicles are getting backed up on lots and this is creating a market that favours the consumer in terms of accessing more flexible and cost effective ways to get into a new or used vehicle for themselves.
Considering all of the above we are excited to have had the chance to speak with Rambod Tatari who works with Carter GM North Shore which is based near the waterfront in North Vancouver. You can learn more about him in the interview we did below and he’s happy to show you vehicles over video calls or similar and have them delivered to your home if you find one you like.
How did you get started with Carter GM and what do you like about working in North Vancouver?
I have been in the car industry around a year now. However, I started my work as an online sales and marketing specialist with Barnes Wheaton GM located in Surrey, and made really good friends, but because of the distance and the fact that I love living in my neighbourhood, I decided to move my work closer to home and that was how I started being a Sales Person at the Carter GM North Shore dealership location.
The thing I like most about the North Vancouver, besides the short drives, is the neighbourhoods and the people that I get to know each and everyday. The automall is located at a fantastic area within North Vancouver, can be said as the heart even though it’s by the shore line. Anyways, great people, great community, and a great location have all made this place special.
What are the products, services and brands that you offer to customers?
We are a GM dealership so of course we are selling cars and more specifically brand new Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, and Buick. We have 4 different brands and a total of 35 models available in SUV, Sedan, Trucks, and Electric.
However, I have to mention that we have many different certified used cars that are not GM products but still have great quality and for those who are looking to save a bit more and buy used cars we also have a great inventory here and at our other dealership brand in Burnaby, which we also have access to.
If our readers want to purchase vehicles from you what is the best way for them to do so?
The best and most convenient way would be to come in at our location because all the customers would love to see and feel the product before they purchase and we would like to help them in person as well. Although, due to the current situations so many people don’t feel safe or comfortable to come into a dealership, and that’s totally understandable, however, all of our cars, offices, and any other working areas is being sanitized on regular basis to make sure of the safety and health of the employees and customers.
Furthermore, I have been providing Virtual Walk-around for the cars through video calls to make the process easier for those who want to get more information about the car’s features, packages, and different trims. Besides, we also deliver cars to people’s doorstep for test drive and get their approvals without them even being present at the dealership and make sure they get the full service they would like before purchasing their next car. Most of the processes of buying a car is now being done online and literally at ease of customer’s laying down on a couch, they can purchase a new or used car when they get in touch with me by contacting my number below.
Before becoming a car sales professional what were you doing for work or a career?
I have studied Interactive Arts and Technology at Simon Fraser University and graduated with Bachelor of Science in 2018. My background is very techie and before coming to car business, I was helping small businesses with their online presence, digital marketing, and designing websites. I still have some customers that I work on their website and social media but my passion about cars and helping out people has taken me to slightly different path, but with the same intention of helping my community. I am aware of the impression that people have from the sales people especially within the car industry and would like to change that by providing best possible customer service and deals to change that mindset.
Outside of operating your business what do you get up to for activities in your personal time?
Before, all these Covid-19 situations I used to go to gym regularly and played soccer once a week or so to keep my body and mind healthy and in shape. Now, with all gyms being closed I mostly spend time running with my partner, and sometimes we take our dogs to keep them active too. I have a small dog, it’s a mix of pug, pomeranian, and pekignese and it takes quite a bit of running to drain his energy. Yes, so mostly exercising at home or outside with my partner and in quiet areas where there is no contact with other people to make sure of obeying all the pandemic related rules.
Lastly, is there anything else you might want our readers to know about you or Carter GM?
Yes, I would like to thank my parents, my brother, and my partner for always being by my side and supporting me no matter what projects I take on. Also, my customers who are like my family as well as my previous and current co-workers and managers who have helped me to become a more complete and a better person. I also want to inform you that I am always here 6-7 days a week at Carter GM to serve customers and promise to help them through every step of buying a car and I have been trying to make the process even smoother and easier day by day, especially now with providing online services, video calls, and test drives at their doors.
