When it comes to modern fashion and current trends so much is circled around ethically made fabrics and designs that are sustainable for the environment. In particular here in British Columbia where we have the highest percentage of vegans of all of the provinces of Canada.
This is where Jessica Redditt comes into the equation, making timeless hand crafted and beautiful items of clothing that you can be proud of wearing. She is a local clothing and fashion designer making waves in North Vancouver. Checkout the interview we did with her below to get to know her better.
How did you get started with your fashion business and what do you like about operating in North Vancouver?
I’ve been making clothing since I was young and I’ve owned and operated shops across Canada. We settled in North Van about 7 years ago and I own and operate a sustainable clothing brand. We sell online and wholesale.
What are the products, services and brands that you offer to customers?
Our brand is natural and sustainable clothing and lounge wear. Everything is made in Vancouver and some of the collection is naturally dyed by me. We use only natural fibres such as silk, and reclaimed textiles.
If our readers want to purchase products or services from you what is the best way for them to do so?
The best way to reach out is through our website, which is below. I love getting emails and helping my clients select what styles would work for them.
Before operating your local business what were you doing for work or a career?
I’ve always been designing clothing and operating clothing boutiques. Since moving to Vancouver, I’ve been working in the film industry in wardrobes, costumes and sets.
Outside of operating your clothing business what do you get up to for activities in your personal time?
I love to do anything artistic. Painting, dyeing, drawing. I like to be outdoors, hiking with my family and dogs or going for a morning jog. I’m working on more meditation these days, and on our natural dye garden.
Lastly, is there anything else you might want our readers to know about you or your business?
I like to make everything as eco and natural as possible. I know it’s impossible to be 100% sustainable but it’s something I strive for every day with my business as we grow.
