Bridge Brewing and North Shore Rescue (NSR) announce today the unkegging of a new, limited edition ale with proceeds supporting rescue operations on the North Shore.
“Trip Plan” IPA is an easy-drinking beer with an important reminder about how to best enjoy the local wilds. “One of the most important things people can do when they head into the BC backcountry is to leave a trip plan with a friend or family member. If they get lost, we have a starting point for a search,” explains Mike Danks, Team Lead for NSR. “Partnering with Bridge is another way to reach the public with a message of making good choices in the backcountry, and we’re grateful for their support.”
The beer label sports the familiar map topography lines of many Bridge brews, but it also suggests a few ways that people can make sure they come home safe from their pursuits in the North Shore backcountry. Leaving a trip plan, taking essential gear, and making smart choices will go a long way towards reducing getting lost or injured in the North Shore mountains.
Partial proceeds from the craft beer will support the Tim Jones Legacy Fund which was founded in memory of the late North Shore Rescue Team Leader. The fund follows Tim’s dream of raising enough money to make financing for the ongoing operations of the rescue group self-sustaining.
Bridge Brewing was one of the first breweries on the North Shore, and they have a strong history of leveraging special edition beers to support local causes. Trip Plan IPA is available for a limited time at Bridge and will be in liquor stores across BC later this week.
