When it comes to good times, North Vancouver truly has it all.

The best outdoor activities anywhere on earth, ease of access to the rest of British Columbia via highway 1, a world class waterfront district with plenty of historical significance, exceptional people and multiculturalism, and now a quickly growing and vibrant local craft beer and liquor distillery scene. Anchored primarily in Lower Lonsdale adjacent to the Lonsdale Quay and newly developed Shipyards District.

Recently a number of local news media websites such as Vancouver Sun, North Shore News, Vancouver is Awesome, CBC News, and Daily Hive have published articles about the burgeoning beer scene in Lower Lonsdale and that of course is driving conversation and awareness within the industry. Entrepreneurs are working hard to launch new brands and concepts to get situated within this very lucrative industry, which also benefits the community with education on how beer is produced and the vast differences in flavours and types that can come from mostly locally sourced ingredients.

With many industries when you have similar businesses packed close together geographically it can cause a thinning of spending and make many mom and pop companies suffer as their customers go elsewhere to spend their money. But within the craft beer and liquor scene when you pack different brands close together it seems to be helping sales across the board for everyone, with increased foot traffic between the different locations. And generally speaking the local micro breweries in North Vancouver all seem to be playing nice together which is a wonderful reflection of the community.
