When you want to build a custom home or do renovations on your existing property, choosing the right North Vancouver based construction company is important. Using a local company helps money from the build stay in the community and that benefits everyone. On top of this asking for referrals and reading reviews is more streamlined if you live locally as they are people within the community who you can trust.

Spring and summer are great times to build a home with less rain and more sunshine, which lends itself to a dry construction site. The equipment is also more efficient in that way with soil and ground that is not muddy. In this article we get to chat with the owner of Steve Wolfe Construction to get to know them better for our readers and see if they are a good fit for your building or renovation needs. They also do commercial work if you have a storefront or local business that needs some upgrades or changes.

How did you get started with Steve Wolfe Construction and what do you like about operating in North Vancouver?
I’ve always loved building and working with wood since I was a boy. I guess you could say it’s in my genes as my grandpa was a master carpenter from Denmark. Not only did I inherit his passion for carpentry, I also inherited some of his hand tools which are either on display in a shadow box in my shop, or refurbished and being used regularly. His hand made wood tool caddy now carries my four year old daughters toy tools and she drags it around wanting to make and fix things with her dad. We’ll see if she follows in my footsteps and carries on our family tradition. I love working on the North Shore because it’s a close knit community. I often bump into clients and suppliers as I run errands for jobs. People on the North Shore also share my affinity for working with wood and natural materials. They are very creative, they care a lot about the environment and are friendly to work with. I also love working on the North Shore because I’m a family man and like to get home quickly to my family at the end of the day!
What are the construction and renovation services that you offer to customers?
Our services include residential and commercial renovations, high end finish carpentry and restorations. We have a lot of success with the restorations part of my business on the North Shore, I recently took on a complete restoration on a building in the Lonsdale Avenue corridor that no one else would touch. We take pride in helping our clients by taking on challenges like this. When doing renovations, I love incorporating live edge, reclaimed, salvaged or rare wood finds into the design plan as either a feature wall, custom built-in or new island or bar. I am known by designers and carpenters in the industry as the go to man for high end finish carpentry and custom builds because I don’t compromise on quality and have a fine eye for detail. I am generally considered the guy to get things done when outside of the box thinking is required. I would say our brand is the trademark high end carpentry and exceptional customer service in the British Columbia construction marketplace.
If our readers want to purchase products or services from you what is the best way for them to do so?
The best way for people to get in touch with us is through our email or giving our office a call below. We also have Instagram and Facebook pages: @stevewolfeconstruction, with pictures of recent projects, and we are of course reachable through them as well.
Before operating your local construction business what were you doing for work or a career?
Before entering carpentry full time I owned and operated a small martial arts centre called The Mission. I trained and taught Filipino Martial Arts and Jeet Kun Do Concepts and Philosophies.
Outside of operating your construction company what do you get up to for activities in your personal time?
The little spare time I have is devoted to spending time with my wife and daughter. We go on nature adventures and beach walks. I also like to spend time in my shop and I’m currently building a mid century modern table for our dining room out of 120 year old fir.
Lastly, is there anything else you might want our readers to know about you or your business?
We just wanted to use this last space to reach out to our community during this time of covid19 and say that we are all in this together. As a company we are taking extra precautions while in a residential space, our entire team is always conscious of personal space, we wear masks, gloves when needed, and all of our equipment is set up to run as close to dust free as can be by using dust extraction backed by hepa filtration systems.
