Hurray for snow here on the North Shore and throughout Metro Vancouver!
The next few days are supposed to be very cold at night going to -15 degrees celsius in some areas throughout the Lower Mainland. Which means during the day it will snow and likely be wet and somewhat slushy, and then at night it will have a hard freeze and the roadways will be very slick with black ice and patchy areas. Please drive with caution and take your time getting around. At this point if you are driving you should have your winter or at minimum all season tires on, driving with summer tires at night on the highway would be dangerous.
This morning in Upper Lonsdale there were a few centimetres of snow but it is now melting and down through Central Lonsdale was the same, however at the waterfront Shipyards District in Lower Lonsdale there was very little snow. Grouse, Seymour, and Cypress Mountains should be lots of fun this weekend. The City and District of North Vancouver were out in full force clearing roads.
