In the heart of North Vancouver’s Lower Lonsdale Shipyards District, Sailor Hagar’s stands as a beacon of nightlife, a brewpub, restaurant, and bar with a storied past and a vibrant present. This establishment is a remnant of the area’s rich history, yet it continuously evolves to keep pace with the changing times.

The recent arrival of a cannabis retail store adjacent to Sailor Hagar’s adds a contemporary layer to the neighbourhood’s eclectic mix, creating a unique juxtaposition of old and new. The brewpub’s location is strategic, lying near Waterfront Park, an open alcohol-allowed zone, and the bustling Lonsdale Quay Seabus terminal. This makes Sailor Hagar’s a prime destination for those seeking a crafted beer or a hearty meal with a view.

But Sailor Hagar’s is not for the faint-hearted. It’s a place that pulsates with energy, especially on weekends when it transforms into a wilder, more untamed version of itself. Fights are not uncommon, as the brewpub attracts a diverse crowd, some of whom are drawn to the edgy and traditional pub culture vibe. It’s a space where boundaries are tested, and the night can take unexpected turns.

Despite its rough edges, Sailor Hagar’s remains a welcoming spot for individuals from all walks of life. People of all ages, genders, and orientations can find a place here, amidst the laughter and the occasional chaos. The brewpub carries the spirit of the old shipbuilding days of Lower Lonsdale (LoLo), blending it with the modern pulse of the city.

The menu at Sailor Hagar’s offers a robust selection of pub and bar fare, alongside a variety of crafted beers and reasonably priced drinks. It’s a place where you can indulge in the flavors of tradition while sipping on the innovation of the present.

Sailor Hagar’s is not just a place to grab a drink or a bite; it’s a venue where stories are born, where nights are lived to the fullest, and where memories are etched in the minds of those who dare to dive into its depths. It’s a brewpub that challenges the norm, inviting patrons to experience the thrill of the unexpected.

If you’re seeking an adventure, a place where the nights are alive with possibility, Sailor Hagar’s is calling your name. Step into one of the Lower Lonsdale Shipyards’ oldest establishments and embrace the wild side of North Vancouver’s nightlife. Sailor Hagar’s is more than a brewpub, restaurant, and bar; it’s a journey into the heart of a community that knows how to keep the spirit of the old alive while dancing to the rhythm of the new.

not for the faint hearted, untamed, fights, there is nothing ‘modern’ about this place. it is NOT a brew pub. nothing has been brewed here for YEARS.this is a place where people get HURT. this is a place where people have been KILLED. pretty much anyone who lives within a 5 mile radius of this place HATES it. we wish it was an all day breakfast place or something uselful to a neighborhood. instead it is yelling and garbage and screaming and drunks harrassing passers by and people smoking cigarettes and throwing them all over the place and starting fires. the reviews say it all – dangerous, overpriced, bad decor, tiny T.V,’s and a whole lot of misery. come one come all get a booze nose youll fir right in. amen.

yah this place is a huge splot in our hood. there are people stsggering all over the streets becasue of this stupid place. they dont care if people fall down the stairs or go deaf from their stupid cheap efforts at providing cold beer to the local losers. the old people that go there in their scooters look like they are about to die from alcohol poisoning but as long as money is going in those places they will serve you all the drugs, liquor and pigeon pie they can serve up. come one come all enjoy the spoils of a man who used to be a low level pimp and for all you know, still is. thiis place should have been closed a long time ago but city thinks it is a good idea hmmm how very strange that no one wants this place here except them. why they renew this assholes liquor license is beyond reason.
