Since the 1980’s our friends at Andreas Restaurant in the Central Lonsdale neighbourhood of North Vancouver have been cooking some of the best meals on the North Shore, inspired by their Greek heritage with a Canadian twist on things.
If you have not tried Andreas Restaurant yet now is a good time to go in and get to know them as they love taking care of their customers and treat them like family. As the eatery is family owned it’s a great tribute to their family heritage providing some of the best menu items you can enjoy.
With so many new restaurants opening throughout the Lonsdale corridor it’s always nice to go back to the well known and established places for dishes that have been making customers happy for decades. If you are out in Langley they also have another restaurant located there.
In this article we had an opportunity to sit down and chat with Narissa who works with Andreas to get to know her and the restaurant better for our readers and the community. The interview we did is below.
How did Andreas Restaurant get started and what do you like about operating in North Vancouver?
It got started 35 years ago as a family business which it continues to be. The North Shore is home and has its own community which contributes to the feel and environment of this family restaurant. We love it here.
What are some of the more popular menu items that your customers enjoy?
Some of the popular items we have on the menu include our Ten Rich Topping Pizza, the Lasagna, the Roast Lamb Kleftiko and Greek Platter. We are also famous for our home-made Cheesecake!
In terms of happy hour what do you offer for weekly promos and specials?
We have happy hour from Mondays to Thursdays, from 3pm – 5pm where you can get $3 off large Pizzas, Greek Dishes, BBQ dishes and appetizers when you order an alcoholic drink. We also offer daily specials which are $2 off drinks on specific days; Monday – Matina’s Martinis, Tuesday – Beer, Wednesday – Wine, Thursday – Andreas Cocktails, Friday – Emperor’s Cocktail, Saturday – Whiskey & Cognac, Sunday – Long Island Ice Tea.
In your spare time outside of running the business what do you do for activities?
Andreas enjoys gardening and handy-work in his free time to make sure everything is fixed and working properly! Even at the age of 86, he makes sure that everything runs perfectly and is always up to something.
Is there anything else you might want our readers to know about Andreas Restaurant?
Andreas is located right off Lonsdale and we offer dine-in, pick-up and delivery from open to close. We open at 11am everyday and close late!
