Check out what we chatted about below.
How did you get started with your eatery and what do you like about operating in North Vancouver?
Well, that is a interesting question. We’ve been in hospitality industry for more than 15 years. We are new in the country and looking for a new place to start up our business. We fell in love when we visited Vancouver’s North Shore, especially the Lonsdale Quay Market. We saw some potential here, the view, the atmosphere, the environment and then we decided that here was the right place to start Craffles. People in North Vancouver are super welcoming and supportive.
What are your most popular food or drink items and your inspiration(s) in creating them?
We have a diversified menu. From healthy Acai bowls to scrumptious crepes and waffles. From Monster Shakes to more than 15 flavours of fresh juices. Since we are from Brazil, we decided to introduce a little bit of our traditional food. Thus, we have quite a few Brazilian snacks like Brigadeiro, gluten free cheese breads and chicken drops. Tapioca is one of our main dishes as well, which is a traditional Brazilian food, rich in several important nutrients.
What do you currently offer for ongoing day to day specials or happy hour promotions?
Crepes are one of our signature meals. With a brownish crust of cheese, no one can resist them. Our Waffles are freshly made everyday and you can order them as a dish or as dessert, you decide! The latest launch is our Divine Waffle Chocolate Fondue, so yummy!
Before operating your eatery what were you doing for work or a career?
We have been in the hospitality industry for more than 15 years and have always been operating restaurants. We had 9 restaurants in Brazil and most of them are still operating to this day.
Outside of operating your business what do you get up to for activities in your personal time?
I love exercising, reading and spending time with my family. The North Shore mountains are very inspiring, and not to mention the waters surrounding us in the Burrard Inlet and up Indian Arm.
Lastly, is there anything else you might want our readers to know about you or Craffles?
Oh yes! Every single thing that we make in our shop comes from the heart. This is very important to let you know about. Every single detail, every single decision is made from our heart to fill our customers with great tasting food and love. That is the purpose of Craffles and we look forward to meeting you soon.
