Browns Socialhouse in North Vancouver was one of the first major casual fine dining restaurant groups to get started in British Columbia Canada and really began expanding quickly across Metro Vancouver and the rest of the country. They’re now offering takeout and delivery food options from their very tasty menu during the covid19 social distancing lock down. With wine and beer pairings and a number of promotions to take advantage of. More on that below.
Back in 2015 Derek Archer, who owns all 3 North Vancouver locations, won a Chamber of Commerce Award for Service Excellence and moving forward from their has continued the deep brand identity of serving customers in a welcoming setting that makes people feel at home with their friends and family. Merging concepts of traditional pubs with premium casual restaurants and finding a blend that matches perfectly with the consumers of today. Derek first started in the hospitality industry when he was 14 working at Earls Restaurant.
The first Browns location that opened was in 2004 by Scott Morison and was here in North Vancouver. Now they have 76 locations across the country and into the United States with more planned under construction. Representing a portfolio of brands including of course Browns Socialhouse but also Liberty Kitchen, Scotty Browns, and Browns Crafthouse. The restaurant group is growing quickly and attracting lots of talent in the kitchen and at the executive level. If you think you are a good fit for their franchise brand submit your resume.
We had the pleasure to interview and chat with Marketing Manager Hailey Heise to get to know her better and learn about what they are offering for takeout and delivery options at their locations here on the North Shore. The menu is always tasty, fun and fresh, not to mention award winning! They have locations in Lower Lonsdale, Central Lonsdale and Lynn Valley.
How has Browns Socialhouse worked through the recent economic issues to come up with customer offerings?
We slimmed down our menu a little bit, to make it so that we can have lesser amounts of staff in the restaurant. We have been thankful to be able to use the government support available. We are currently doing take out and delivery through Skip the Dishes, and look forward to being able to socialize a bit in store as well once we are approved to do so by the government.
What are some of the more popular takeout and delivery food items you are offering currently?
Some of our most popular take out items would be our burgers, Dragon Bowl, Southwest Bowl and Blackened Chicken Fettuccine and of course our Social Wine.
Do you have wine, beer and cocktail offerings and what are some promotions being presented in that area?
We have wine, beer and cider available and can pair things perfectly with the food items you order from our menu.
In terms of moving forward, what are you most excited about in regards to getting back to “business as usual”?
Seeing our guests and bringing our staff back to the team. We really miss the energy and spending time with the community.
How are you enjoying the growth and expansion of the Lower Lonsdale culinary and brewery scene?
We are loving it, it is great to see this area developed. We are hoping to see Lower Lonsdale viewed as a hub where people plan to go for dinner and a culinary experience.
Are there any differences between the Lower Lonsdale and Central Lonsdale locations?
They have different rotating beer and the Lower Lonsdale location has a large wrap around patio for people watching and more high top seating available which makes it feel a little more lounge like.
Outside of running the restaurant group, what do you get up to in your personal time for activities?
Our management team all love the outdoors, hiking, and many of us are dog owners and enjoy taking strolls with them.
Lastly, is there anything else you would like our readers to know about Browns Socialhouse?
Browns Socialhouse is actually a franchise community and each location is individually owned. The 3 North Vancouver locations are owned by Derek Archer who was born and raised in North Vancouver. We are so thankful for your support through this time. Derek and our teams can’t wait to socialize with you when this is all over.
