North Vancouver, B.C. (June 17, 2022) — After three years in operation, Naito Hospitality has announced they have closed Hachiro Ramen and are opening a new wine bar concept in its place, called 16 West. Named after its location in North Vancouver, 16 West will feature a B.C.-focused wine list and food inspired by wine regions from around the world.

“The focus of the wine list is to expose guests to the eclectic and award-winning wines of B.C., as well as showcase the diversity of the growing region and how it stacks up to the international marketplace,” said Gowe. “We are strong believers that great food and wine bring people from all walks of life together and encourage them to reconnect. We aim to create an environment where guests can enhance their wine knowledge in a welcoming, casual environment, surrounded by great food and friends. It’s about making lasting food memories and great times.”

16 West is set to open on June 24, 2022, and is located at 140 16th Street West, North Vancouver.

“Its been an incredible three years for Naito Hospitality operating Hachiro, but we feel that it’s now time for a change,” said Brooke Campbell, Founder of Naito Hospitality.  “To better serve our customers on the North Shore, we have decided to open a wine bar that shares our passion for food and wine with the neighborhood. We are excited to create a casual dining environment where foodies can relax and enjoy wines by the glass paired with foods that encourage sharing.”

Chef Addy Gowe (formerly of Hachiro, Bufala Edgemont, Quattro, and Torafuku) will be leading the menu, which is inspired by her travels and food from wine regions around the world. Each dish is designed to encourage sharing, conversation, and pairings with local and European wines.

Reservations and walk-ins are welcome. A daily happy hour will be served from 4-5:30 pm.

Address: 140 16th Street West, North Vancouver.
